Pipe Diameter Selection
Determine the minimum required pipe internal diameter for a given flow rate and maximum allowable flow velocity.
Units:
Recommended flow velocities: water supply 0.5–2.0 m/s, cooling water 1–3 m/s, hydraulic pressure lines 2–4 m/s, hydraulic return lines 1–2 m/s, compressed air 8–15 m/s. Higher velocity means more noise and pressure loss.
